JURONG BIRD PARK in Singapore
O |
ne Saturday morning, as me and my family were in Singapore, we went for a drive to JURONG BIRD PARK, that is the world's largest collection of South East Asia Birds that was opened since January, 1971.
251 at Boon Lay bus interchange terminal...however we decided to drive our own by the help of GPS.. For more info please visit http://www.birdpark.com.sg
There are roughly about 8,000 birds from 600 species located here especially from South East Asia, Africa and South America. As we arrived the Jurong Birds Park, the time was already 10.30 in the morning... The schedule stating that it opens from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. everyday...we had to pay for the entrance fee. The entrance fee for adults is $18 and $12 for children (3-12 years old)...
The charges for a tram ride $5 for adults and $3 for children. However, we took the group package that has been offered which is cheaper than paying individually inclusive the charges to visit the Safari Night, Zoo and also the tram to drive us there... For those who are coincidently celebrating his/her birthday that day will be offered a complimentary fee. A free route map of Jurong Birds Park can be found in front of the main entrance.

This park is very huge where the world's tallest man-made waterfall is located. There are also people went for picnic here with beautiful scenery and birds flying everywhere... We can find a lot of colorful birds with different size and species such as flamingo, pelicans, hornbills, parrots, penguin, etc... There is a variety of birds performance show at the Amphitheater everyday at 11 a.m. and 3p.m...So, we make sure that we have to be there on time to get the best seats...
My kids were so excited and eager to watch the smart birds that have been trained flew into the hoop, playing balls and singing “happy birthday’ song... I was quite scared when the big bird flew above my head..my hubby had not get the chance to take the photo immediately since the incident had never been expected..only after the show we took photos with birds and feed them.
Don’t forget to bring and drink a lot of water since the weather a bit hot in the afternoon and many places to be visited.. There are terrace kiosk and restaurant like Mc Donald can be found here.. Souvenirs shop is located not far from to the exit gate..
A lot of visitors coming here from all over the world every year and estimated not less than 1 million per year.
